Matt and I both come from the restaurant industry. It’s something that will always be near and dear to our hearts because it taught us so many lessons…how to efficiently wash dishes, peel garlic the fastest way, fold linens the right way, store things in our fridge, and how to taste food and drinks.
R&D is an industry term for Research and Development. It’s a fancy way to say, "let's taste test." While it can be a delicious job, it's an important practice that you probably do every time you cook but don't realize. Anytime that you have made one recipe and adjusted it the next time, you have R&D-ed!
We do a lot of R&D at Iconic. From developing our line of signature mixers and rotating seasonal flavors, to coming up with new recipes to enjoy them with, we are always taste testing. We like to flex our creative muscles and come up with more ways to use our mixers.
We’ve rounded up a few recipes (that aren’t cocktails) from the past few years that you can see here! We hope this inspires you to get creative and try something new. Be sure to take notes and try, try again if something doesn’t work out.

Simple dipping sauces to make with your favorite snacks.
Made like an elevated simple syrup with real ingredients, our mixers can be used in place of things like honey, sugar, or extracts in any recipe. When subbing out ingredients in recipes, it will always take a little trial and error but that’s what we are here for. In this blog post, we came up with two dipping sauces you can pair with your favorite frozen treats.

- ¼ cup of Iconic Spiced Honey
- Pinch of Salt
- Red pepper flake
-Combine all in a dish and garnish with a pinch of red pepper flake.
Cranberry Jalapeño Dip
- ½ cup of fresh cranberries
- 1 half of jalapeño, seeded and diced
- ½ cup of Iconic Cranberry Thyme
-In a small saucepan, combine all ingredients
-Simmer over low heat for about 20 minutes or until cranberries have soften
