It's time for Grapefruit Season!

GRAPEFRUIT FLEUR DE SEL

Returning for the third time, Grapefruit Fleur de Sel is back and we are so excited about it!

Made in partnership with local Arizona company, SEE SALT, this mixer highlights one of the best parts of our great state: citrus. We get our fruit from McClendon's Select of Peoria, Arizona. This family farm is certified organic and is known for picking produce at the peak of perfection. Every Wednesday, we meet Bob McClendon to pick up cases and cases of grapefruit. 

Like most of our seasonal mixers, we don't add any water to the batch. Instead, we hand zest and juice the citrus to make sure we're getting the best part of the fruit. We don't mask the natural flavor of the sweet grapefruits with tons of sugar. Finally, we finish with the hand harvested fleur de sel procured by our friends at SEE SALT which rounds out this unique flavor.

Overall, the flavor is bright, fresh, and makes a killer Paloma when mixed with tequila. We wanted to include a couple cocktail recipes for you to try after you get your hands on it. We make Grapefruit Fleur de Sel from March until the end of May!

FUMÉ.

Simple, smokey, and delicious. Grapefruit naturally pairs with Tequila, yes. But what about Whiskey? For this cocktail, we used Whiskey Del Bac's Mesquite Smoked Clear from Hamilton Distillery out of Tucson, AZ. Known for their unparalleled distilling technique, the team over at Hamilton Distillery is making a uniquely smoked whiskey. It reminds us of scotch but with a true Arizona twist. 

THE RECIPE: 

  • 2oz Whiskey Del Bac Mesquite Smoked Clear 
  • 1oz Grapefruit Fleur de Sel 
  • 1/2oz Lime juice 
  1. Have a chilled glass at the ready 
  2. Combine ingredients in a shaker with ice and shake until chilled 
  3. Pour into a glass without ice and topped with chilled sparkling water 
  4. If you're in AZ, pick a grapefruit tree and zest your garnish. A little rosemary ties all the flavors together, so if you have some, add that too!

BOB'S YOUR UNCLE. 

We were inspired by the classic Salty Dog cocktail recipe for this one. We felt right naming this one after our beloved farmer from McClendon's. The cool thing about our Grapefruit Fleur de Sel mixer is that it's already salted for you. No need to rim a glass. Of course, we kept it local and used AZ Distilling's Commerce Gin. 

THE RECIPE: 

  • 2oz Commerce Gin
  • 1oz Grapefruit Fleur de Sel
  • 1/2oz Lime Juice 
  1. Combine all in a glass with ice. 
  2. Top with sparkling water 
  3. Garnish with a wedge of grapefruit.

So as you can see, it's pretty simple to make a great cocktail. Our mixers are designed for you to make a simple, fresh cocktail without all the work. We pack each one with tons of flavor so all you have to do is...just add spirit.
